Create a safe place for kids experiencing cancer to gain the confidence and skills to play soccer and succeed in their goal setting endeavors.
We envision a world where every child – no matter their health – experiences the joys of sport and activity. Where every child – no matter their status is empowered to set goals in life and reach them to help grow into emotionally and physically healthy adults.
Hannah Penman – Program Director
Hannah was born in Buffalo, NY and grew up in a small town called Olean, NY. When she was 11 she had her first cancer diagnosis. She is a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford where she played soccer for 4 years and received her degree in Sports and Recreation Management. After completing her degree, and rebounding from a second cancer diagnosis, Hannah moved to DC for an internship with D.C. United’s non-profit and that is where she got the idea for Soccer for the Future. She was eventually hired on full time to D.C. United in early 2015, and remains on staff today.
